The International F1 6x6 trucks were purchased new by the NZ Army from the Manufacturer,
International of Australia, in late 1969 and early 1970. The trucks were origially expected to fit into the role
of Prime Mover for the 5.5 inch Medium Artillery Gun.
Once the 5.5 Gun had been retired the F1 was used as a General Purpose Cargo vehicle. The F1 was also produced
and supplied to the NZ Army in tow other variants.
The Limber / Ammunition Carrier for the 5.5 gun, with a similar tray but the addition of a hydralic crane
behind the cab, as well as a cross country tipper fitted with an aluminium dump body.
This truck was stripped down to a bare chassis and compeletly rebuilt by the current owner.
